Cocoa & Crafts 7-4

Hello, hello!! How are you this fine day? I am currently enjoying the smell of the rain outside. Boy did we need it. Still need more, but I'm sure my flowers and veggies are much happier this afternoon than they have been in quite a while.

Today we get to make the last of our June projects, and as I've mentioned before, it's my favorite. I designed it specifically with my grandson in mind as he LOVES bow ties and suspenders, and orange is his absolute favorite color. Seriously?! Can anything get any cuter than this?

I do have to apologize again for the auto focus on the camera. I have switched to using my DSLR instead of my phone, and I need to remember to set it on manual focus so it doesn't go in and out. Apparently it has a hard time focusing on plain white cardstock. Thankfully it was only in a couple places and didn't last too long. Hope it doesn't give anyone a headache.

There you have it. A little bit fiddly, but such a fun, fun card and totally worth the extra effort, I think. If you didn't get a kit, or simply want to make this card yourself, I'm afraid you will need to use a different pattern paper for the shirt as the Well Suited DSP appears to be sold out, but thankfully the stamp set and dies are carry over into the main catalog. Yay! Here's a list of other supplies I used to make this card:

Until next time...

Cocoa & Crafts 7-3

Hello there! I am so very sorry for being late with this post. We have had a very busy couple of weeks with graduation things and company in and out. I did pre-record the video before the latest company, but forgot to get it edited and this post ready. I'm so sorry.

Anyway, as promised, here is the third project for our Cocoa & Crafts class with the tutorial on how to make a rectangle piece of cardstock into a shirt with just two cuts.

The card is a standard half sheet of cardstock, and the shirt piece is 5 1/4 x 4. The video explains how to make the collar, and I've already marked the pieces in your kit, but in case you want to make this card again sometime, here are the measurements for the cuts: Start your cut along a side about 3/4 inch down from the top. End your cut 1 1/4 inch in from the edge and about 1/4 inch down from the top. Do this on both sides. Keep in mind, you don't have to be super exact on these measurements, this is just a guide. As we say around here; easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.

I hope you are having a great summer so far and I look forward to crafting with you next week. It's my favorite project in this kit.

Till next time...

Cocoa & Crafts 7-2

Hello there! I am super excited about today's post. It's not often I work with any of our more masculine stamp sets, so I've been having fun with the Handsomely Suited set, and I really enjoyed trying to design a treat box around the long, skinny tie stamp. I even managed to size it so you can get two boxes from one sheet of cardstock with no scraps left over. I hope you like it, and I hope you have someone super special in your life that you can gift this to.

Here are the measurements for the box in case you'd like to replicate it:

Base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
    Score on long side: 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 3 3/4, 5
Score on short side: 1 1/4
Designer Series Paper panels 5 x 1

Here are the supplies to make this project.

Again, I hope you enjoyed this project. I'm looking forward to next week's card where we will take a  rectangle of cardstock and turn it into a shirt with two simple cuts.

Till next time...

Cocoa & Crafts 7-1

Hello there! I am so glad to be back. I enjoyed having a bit of a break, but I do miss crafting with you, even if it is just virtual. Also, I want to thank those who have been praying for my mother-in-law as she is back home and seems to be on the "getting better" side of all of this. Thank you again.

I apologize to those who ordered the kit as I forgot several things this time around. I do hope you have some thread or other string handy to make this card as it really is a fun one.

Unfortunately, the Well Suited Designer Series Paper I used on this project is retiring soon, but you still have time to get an order in. Here's a list of everything I used:

I will be back next week with a fun box to gift to any special dad in your life.

Till next time...
God's love and blessings!
