Cocoa & Crafts Seasonal Blooms 4

Hello there! We are on the last project for this month's Cocoa & Crafts. Sorry I'm a little late in posting the video.

For this card we are using a mask to blend a little color onto the middle of the card front to give our birds and branches a focal point without adding any bulk to the card. I also show you how to use our silicone craft mat to make a mirror image of the cute little bird.

Very basic measurements for this card:

  • Card base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/2
  • Inside and outside panels - 4 x 5 1/4
What do you think? I hope you enjoyed this month's projects. Now that summer is winding down, I'm hoping to be able to spend a bit more time in my crafty space. I'm looking forward to sharing whatever fun projects I come up with, especially since the holidays will be here before we know it!

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. If you decide to place an order through my website, if your order is less than $150, please use the Host Code listed above (on the right), so I can send you an extra free goody. If your order is over $150 don't use the code as you get to pick out the goody yourself when you place your order.

Cocoa & Crafts Seasonal Branches 3

Hello there! Today's card is the third project in our Seasonal Branches Cocoa & Crafts Class. I found that my stash of sympathy/thinking of you cards was getting low, and this sweet little set is perfect for cards like this.

I do love this tearing technique with the branch and bird popping out from behind. What do you think?

Measurements:

  • Card base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • White panel - 4 x 5 1/4
  • Boho Blue Panel 3 x 4 1/4

Cocoa & Crafts Seasonal Branches 2

Hello there! Sorry I haven't posted as much as usual the last few weeks. We have been traveling and super busy with summer stuff lately. It's harvest season, so I'm busy most days in the garden or out picking berries in the woods and then processing things. I also spend two weeks teaching Pioneer School in the summer, so things have just been busy, busy around here.

I am super excited about this project. I found these honey sticks at our local Farmer's Market and picked up a bunch of them with plans to make some kind of project with them. It took quite a few pieces of scrap paper and planning, but I really like how it came out.

This would be a sweet little gift to give to someone who's feeling a little under the weather. Maybe tuck it into a basket along with some chicken noodle soup and some crackers or bread. What a sweet way to let someone know you're thinking about them and hoping they are feeling better soon.

Measurements for this project:

  • Boho Blue base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 3 1/2 and 7
  • Basic White wrap - 4 1/2 x 8 1/2

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. If you decide to place an order through my website, if your order is less than $150, please use the Host Code listed above (on the right), so I can send you an extra free goody. Cocoa & Crafts Seasonal Branches 1

Hello there! It's time for another round of Cocoa & Crafts. This month we are playing with the Seasonal Branches set. This is a simple card, but I love the sentiment as it can be used for several of those occasions that we really wish we didn't have to have a card for, but often do, such as sympathy, get well, or for someone who is just feeling down. It's a sweet card to let someone know you care for them.

Measurements:

  • Card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Crumb Cake panel - 4 1/2 x 3 1/4

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. Cocoa & Crafts Irresistible Blooms 4

Hello there! We're on our last project for this month's Cocoa & Crafts class. I hope you've enjoyed all of the projects. I really, REALLY like this stamp set and paper! We're going to finish off with a super simple treat bag using one of the 6 x 6 sheets of the paper.

  • 6 x 6
    • score across bottom at 1 3/8
    • cut up to score line at 1 3/8, 2 3/4, 4 1/8, 5 1/2
Not a lot of supplies for this one. So, which sheet did you choose to use for your treat bag?

Cocoa & Crafts Irresistible Blooms 3

Hello there! I won't be posting much the next couple of weeks as I will be on a couple of trips to celebrate graduations. I hope to be back to a regular schedule in June though. Today's card is a super simple card that could really be used for any occasion simply by switching out the sentiment. I love that we are able to use the half-flowers from the edges of the Designer Series Paper for this one. Don't want to waste any of that pretty paper!

Measurements for this card:

  • Card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Front frame - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 with a 4 x 2 5/8 rectangle cut from the middle

Cocoa & Crafts Irresistible Blooms 1

Hello there! Whew! It's been a while, but we are back with another round of Cocoa & Crafts. First there was a supply issue, and then a shipping issue, so we had to postpone the April class until May, but it is such a pretty stamp set that it is worth the wait.

Our first project this month is a pop up card that highlights the pretty Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper. Super fun, but quick project today.

The DSP is cut in such a way that you get two slightly different cards from one sheet of 6 x 6 paper with no scraps left over.

Measurements for this card:

  • Card base - 11 x 4 1/4 scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2
  • Card front - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • Designer Series Paper front panel - 6 x 3 (trimmed after adhering to front-see video)
  • Designer Series Paper inside panel - 2 1/2 x 4
  • Stopper piece - 1/2 x 4 1/4

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. Cocoa & Crafts Dainty Delight #4

Hello there! I just got back from my mission trip to Mexico. Thank you so much for praying for me while I was away. It was a wonderful trip and I hope to be able to share some of the experience with you sometime.

Here is the last project for this month's class. (It's still February, so I'm not late. 😁) As I mention in the video, I can't take credit for this design. I fell in love with Jacque Williams card she did for the Colour Inkspiration challenge. I just adapted it to fit on one of our embossed gift bags. You can see her card here.

Very simple measurements for this one:

  • Sahara Sand layer- 4 1/2 x 4 1/2
  • Basic White layer- 4 1/4 x 4 1/4
Because of my traveling, I will not be having a Cocoa & Crafts class during the month of March, but I will have the sign up ready for April's class later this week and I hope to be posting other projects throughout the month of March. Be sure to check out my Stampin' Up! store front tomorrow as there will be some new online exclusives available. I can't wait to see what they are!

Cocoa & Crafts Dainty Delight #3

Hello there!! First off I would like to say welcome to those who are new to my blog. For some reason my YouTube channel has had some new views and subscribers all of a sudden, so if you have made your way over here to my blog as well, welcome!

Secondly, I will not be home when this goes live. Lord willing, I will be on a mission trip to Mexico and I would appreciate any and all prayers for those of us going, along with my handsome hubby who will be home alone for a while. Here's a picture of me and our foreman working on the church foundation 3 years ago. This year we will be painting inside walls! Yay!

Now, on to this week's project. This card has several layers, but it's a pretty simple card to put together. The little bit of torn paper across the bottom helps to add texture and interest without a lot of bulk.

Once again I used our watercolor pencils to color in these dainty little flowers, and I finished off the card with some champagne rhinestones. I love how they change a little in color according to the project they are on. On some projects they take on a brown/gold tone, but on this one they look a bit more orange/coral in color.

Card Measurements:
  • Card Back Coral Piece- 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • Card Base- 5 3/8 x 8 1/4
  • Front Coral Piece- 5 x 4 torn across the bottom
  • Front Basic White Piece- 5 x 3 7/8

Depending on my time management, I am hoping to get next week's video uploaded and ready to post before I leave tomorrow, but if not, it may be a day or so late next week. I apologize in advance if it is late. Thank you again for praying for my trip.

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. Cocoa & Crafts Dainty Delight #2

Hello there! Today we are working on the second project in this month's Cocoa & Crafts. I think this is my favorite of the four projects. I love all the layers and texture.

This card starts out with some blending and water splattering to get a nice back drop for our flowers and it is finished off with more of the For Everything Fancy Sequins and some dew drops made with our Fine Tip glue pen. As I said, lots of pretty texture on this card.

What do you think? Can you see the "dew drops"? Hope you like it.

Cocoa & Crafts Fond of Autumn #4

Hello there! I am so sorry for being late with this, even later than expected. My computer updated to the newest operating system, and my video editor wouldn't work properly with it. Took me a while to get things figured out. Sorry about that.

I hope you like the final project for this class. We will use the extra pieces from our previous projects to make a pretty floral thank you card. Of course, you could totally change up the sentiment and make this card for just about any occasion. I do like the color combination of So Saffron, Soft Succulent and Soft Suede. Very cheerful, yet elegant.

Here are the measurements:

  • Card base-- 11 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2
  • Front panel-- 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 with about a half an inch torn off the side
  • Inside panel-- 5 1/4 x 4

Cocoa & Crafts Fond of Autumn #2

Hello there! How are you this fine fall day? It actually looks like winter outside my window right now as we are having our first significant snow fall of the season. It's so pretty!! Yes, I'm one of the strange people who really enjoys winter here. I'm sipping some hot tea while I craft away today.

Despite the snow outside, it is still fall, and not too late to send someone this pretty card. I forgot to mention in the video to hold on to the extra pieces once you cut out the large image we stamped. We're going to use the flowers and berries in our last project for this kit, so store them away with the fourth envelope.

Here are the measurements along with the items I used:

  • Card base-- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Front panel-- 5 3/8 x 4 1/8
  • Inside panel-- 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
  • Word strip--3/4 x 3 1/2 trimmed to fit

Cocoa & Crafts Cup of Tea #3

Hello there again! I'm a little late, but here's this week's project. This is a simple little get-well kit that holds a Cup of Soup and a tea bag. I did have to order the Cup of Soup from Amazon as all of our local stores only carry the large family size soup envelopes, not the individual cup size. The same template could be used to hold a hot cocoa packet and a small chocolate.

Here are the measurements:

  • Card base- 8 1/2 x 11 (see video for cutting instructions)
  • Inside panel- 4 x 5 1/4
  • Front pocket- 4 3/8 x 3 (see video for adhering instructions)

Cocoa & Crafts Cup of Tea #2

Hello there! I have, apparently missed a week. I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I'm two classes behind! So very sorry. I will post yesterday's class later today so you can get all caught up on your projects.

Anyway, on to what should have been last week's project, this cute card. Super simple and easy, but what a sweet card to send to someone who's feeling a little under the weather.

The measurements are super simple:

  • Card base- 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • DSP mat- 4 x 5 1/4

Here's a list of supplies I used:
