Fun Fold Friday Jar of Flowers

Hello there! I'm here with another Fun Fold Friday. The Jar of Flowers stamp set is the perfect set to make a slider pop-up card. It looks difficult, but it really isn't.

Measurements for this card:

  • Petal Pink background piece -5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • White panel - 4 x 4
  • Blackberry Bliss background piece - 5 1/4 x 4 scored at 1 1/2 on long side
  • Designer Series Paper piece - 1 1/2 x 9
  • Blackberry Bliss pop-up piece - 3 1/2 x 1 1/2 scored at 1/2 on long side
  • Blackberry Bliss pop-up mechanism - 1 1/2 x 1/2 scored at 1/2 & 1
  • Petal Pink pop-up mechanism - 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 scored at 1/2 & 2 1/4
I would wrap your Designer Series Paper around your base a little tighter than I did in the video so your card will stay in position. Oh, and as soon as I finished the video I remembered that the name of those leaves are eucalyptus leaves. 😊 Told you they were on the tip of my tongue. 😉

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. Masking Monday Flowing Flowers

Hello there! I have a quick card for you today with a beautiful ombre color palette. I just love how the Calypso Coral ties together the So Saffron and Sweet Sorbet. The deep Evening Evergreen seemed the perfect green to compliment them.

While this stamp set, and two of the colors are retiring VERY soon, this is a layout/technique that would work for many different sets and colors.

Measurements for this card:

  • Card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
  • Mask 3/4 from left edge and 1 3/4 from right edge

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. If you decide to place an order through my website, if your order is less than $150, please use the Host Code listed above (on the right), so I can send you an extra free goody. 3D Thursday - 2, 4, 6, 8 Bag

Hello there! I'm here today with a 3D Thursday that is also a Throwback Thursday for me. This is the very first 3D item I learned to make as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, many, many years ago. It's a super, super easy bag to make. It's called a 2, 4, 6, 8 bag because that is the score lines you need to remember. I'm tellin' ya, super, super easy bag.

Measurements:

  • 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
    • score on short side at 2 inches
    • score long side at 2, 4, 6, 8
See, I told you it was easy. This bag is a nice size for a simple little gift--maybe chocolates, or a tealight, or even a small little hand cream. If you don't seal the bottom right away, you could have a stash of these made and they would store flat until you needed them to give as little pick-me-up gifts.

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. If you decide to place an order through my website, if your order is less than $150, please use the Host Code listed above (on the right), so I can send you an extra free goody. Technique Tuesday - Partial Images

Hello there! Today I want to share a project that shows a couple of ways to do the same thing.  There are times in our crafting when we don't want to use the entire image on a stamp. Maybe it is too big for your layout, or the wording isn't quite right. Whatever the reason, there are multiple ways to limit what part of a stamp (and even an embossing folder) you use on a project.

Keep in mind, these are only a couple of methods to get a partial image when stamping. There are several more such as using your Stampin' Write Markers (or any other water-based marker) to only ink up the part of the image you want to stamp. (This does NOT work with our Stampin' Blends, or any other alcohol based marker, as they dry too quickly and will not transfer well.) And, in some cases, you can even cut your stamp apart so you only ink up the part you want. I've done this in the past with some of my images that had words under them. I cut the words off so I had two separate stamps instead of one.

Measurements:

  • Petal Pink card base - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • White card base - 8 x 5 1/4
  • White card panel - 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
  • Petal Pink panel- 1 1/4 x 4
I challenge you this week to take a look at the stamp sets you have and see if there are new ways you can use them by only using a part of the images in the set.

I hope you have enjoyed today's post. Thankful Thursday Cheerful Basket

Hello there! I'm here today to share a little Thankful Thursday. Each month I enjoy making little gifts to thank those that have placed an order with me over the last month. This month I used an image from the Cheerful Basket set to make these cute little keychains.

Shrink plastic is readily available at most local craft stores and, of course, online. It comes in clear, frosted (what I used in this video), solid and even glow-in-the-dark. It's pretty easy to use and really fun to watch shrink down.

I hope my customers enjoy their little gift. I think I will hang mine on my little bag I use to carry craft supplies when I travel.

Tips & Tricks Tuesday Blessings of Home

Hello there! Welcome, welcome! It's a beautiful fine spring day here in Wisconsin. The snow has begun to melt, and my tulips and daffodils are coming up despite the pile of snow still on the garden.

I have a pretty flowery wreath to share today along with an amazing trick I just learned to help in placing your foliage exactly where you want it.

Blessings of Home is one of my favorite stamp sets in the catalog and I am so sad to see it retire. The flowers and dies pair perfectly with the Dainty Delight bundle so I used both of them on this card.

Measurements for this card:
  • Card base - 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Inside and outside panels - 4 x 5 1/4
Here's a comparison of the flowers. The ones on the left were shaded with Petal Pink, the ones on the right were shaded with Crumb Cake. I also realized while looking at this photo, that I didn't add shading to the embossed panel on the left card, but I did on my original. I think the shading makes the embossing stand out a bit more and adds a tiny bit of vintage flair to it.

I hope you enjoyed this little project. This is definitely a trick I will be using again.

Fun Fold Friday - Wisteria Wishes

Hello there! I'm here today with a Floral Fun Fold Friday card for you. When I first got my Wisteria Wishes stamp set I had in my head the idea to make a pop out trellis or arbor for the wisteria vines to hang from, but just never sat down to figure out a way to make it happen. Since this set is retiring soon, I thought I better sit down and see if I could make it work. Turns out it was a lot easier than I was imagining.

Measurements for this card:

  • Card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • White panels inside and out - 5 1/4 x 4
  • Smoky Slate frame - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • Smoky Slate arbor/trellis piece inside - 1/2 x 5 1/4 scored at 1/2, 4 1/4, 4 3/4
Yay! I'm so glad I was able to make this. Now to go play in my crafty space and give the rest of my retiring stamp sets a little love before I get to play with some new stuff. 😊

Watercolor Wednesday- Hydrangea Haven

Hello there! I'm here today with another Watercolor Wednesday. I wanted to play around a bit with the beautiful Hydrangea Haven stamp set before it retires. Plus, with all the white snow still outside my windows, I really, REALLY needed to play with some floral stamps this week. Hydrangeas are known for having a beautiful mix of colors on their flowers, and what better medium to accomplish this than watercolor.

Measurements for this card:

  • Card base- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
  • Basic Black panel- 5 1/4 x 4
  • Basic White Panel outside- 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
  • Sentiment Panel- 1 x 3
  • Basic White Panel inside- 5 1/4 x 4
I hope you like this card. Watercolor is such a fun medium to work with, especially when you can just let the colors do what they want like you can on this set. You don't have to worry about each color being in just the right spot or staying in the lines.
