Cocoa & Crafts 6-4

Today is a happy/sad kind of day. I'm super excited to be sharing this cute, cute card with you, but oh so sad that this is the last project for this month's kit. I mean, seriously, this set is so stinkin' cute!

I CASED this card from Mikaela over at the Crafty Oink Pen I really loved the layout of her card, but wanted to use just items from the Snailed It Bundle, so I used her basic idea and just changed things up a bit and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

The card is a basic long card base (4 1/4 x 11). I trimmed off 1 1/4 inch from the front panel and then scored that piece 1/2 inch in on a short side to use as the flap.

I hope you liked this project and get a chance to play in your crafty space this week. I will be busy working on thank you gifts for my customers. I'm so very, very grateful for their support over this last year and I want to do something special for them. I hope they like it.

Here's a list of supplies used in this project:

Unfortunately, I won't be back in May with a Cocoa & Crafts, class, but I do hope to have one for June, and I will be back, possibly later this week, to showcase a project or two I've been working on.

Till next time...

Cocoa & Crafts 6-3 A Happy Little Snail

Who wouldn't be happy getting mail like this? So cute! This card is a great all-purpose notecard to send along to just about anyone. Any the pop-up snail is easier than you might think.

Here's what you would need to make this card if you don't have the Cocoa & Crafts kit:

As I mentioned in the video I am thinking about doing a series of videos on the basics of stamping, specifically with Stampin' Up! product as some of ours are unique to others (I'm looking at you, ink pads). If there is a topic you would be interested in, please leave a message below and I'll see what I can do.

Cocoa & Crafts 6-2 A Sweet Sliding Snail Card

Hello there! Today we are working on the second project in our April Cocoa & Crafts class. It is this super cute snail that slides out of the envelope to say "hello". So, so cute!

At one point, I zoom in on the video so you can see my coloring a little better than last week, but then I forgot to zoom back out. Sorry about that. I'm pretty sure you can see most everything OK though. The card is a basic half sheet of cardstock (8 1/2 x 5 1/2) and the gray panel is 1/4 inch smaller than the card front (4 x 5 1/4).

If you didn't get a kit, here's the supplies you would need to make this card:

I should be back next Tuesday with project #3. Oh, and yes, I was feeling much better after the nap. :o)

Till next time...

Cocoa & Crafts #6!

Hello again! As my dad used to say when he would mispronounce my real name as tomorra, instead of Tamara, I'm a day late and a dollar short. Actually, I'm a week late, and we won't get into the finances.

If you remember from my last post, my craft room was a disaster as we rearranged a few rooms in our house. In case you don't already know, paper crafts are not my only hobby. I also enjoy painting, sewing and cake decorating and a myriad other crafts that all come with their own supplies and tools. Obviously the cake decorating stuff is in the kitchen area (well, most of it, anyway), and my papercrafts are in what was probably supposed to be a family room in this house that we turned into a craft/school room, but my sewing supplies and other miscellaneous craft goodies were tucked in the tiniest bedroom in the house. Long story short, I now have a new sewing/guest room that is wonderfully organized and spacious and just two steps from my craft room. I love it! Here's a couple pictures of my new space.

My sewing corner.

Handsome hubby built shelves into the closet alcoves to store my misc. boxes.

I am so very grateful to be able to have this space to work. My first order of business in there is to make a dress for my daughter for her upcoming prom. (You can get a peek of the fabric on the desk.)

Anyway, I just wanted to give you an update on the room progress and happy to report it is all finished and my craft room is back to its normal state. I would say clean, but that's definitely not its normal state. 😊

On to our first project for this month's Cocoa & Crafts! This stamp set is so stinkin' adorable! I love it! This is not my original idea. I cased it from Chris over at Buckeye Inklings.  If you check out this post of hers she also used the sliding lock on a card.

Here are the measurements for our treat box:

  • Base 7 1/2 x 10 3/4
    • scored short side at 1 3/4, 2 1/8, 5 3/8, 5 3/4
    • scored long side at 4, 4 3/8, 8 3/8, 8 3/4
  • DSP 3 3/4 x 3
  • DSP 1 3/4 x 3
  • White 3 3/4 x 3
  • Adhesive foam piece 3/8 x 3/4
And if you didn't get a kit, here's what you would need to replicate this super cute box.

I will close this here. I need to video our second project so I can get it posted this Thursday instead of next week.

Till next time...
